It is really easy to not stick to New Years resolutions when you feel like crap, and that is exactly what I’ve been doing for the past few days. I made rather aggressively writing goals for each month of the year and far, I am not doing so great with them.
First of all, I feel like I’m in a holding pattern until my little sister comes to visit this weekend. I have to keep the house relatively neat so no diving into other projects I have. Of course writing is a pretty neat thing to do, so that is no excuse. As usual, I have no excuses. I just have no right and getting done.
I am writing this blog post with my Dragon NaturallySpeaking and really wish I could somehow teach myself to write fiction with it as well. It is so much quicker. I find when I try writing fiction with it however, that my voice is completely lost (my physical voice, but my writing voice) and everything comes out sounding as boring as this blog post probably does.
Since I am starting to outline instead of pants it, it might be possible to use Dragon to talk through the first draft with absolutely no style whatsoever. I always end up having to rewrite my stories anyway. I think it’s worth a try.
Back to being sick…
At the moment I’m supposed to be finishing up the first book in my Resurrection Men trilogy, “A Bale of Flesh,” working on a new short story about a traveling troupe of minstrels and finishing up “A is for Asylum,” which is the first book in my ABCs of Zombies collection.
