So, I’m trying to write more short stories lately. I’ve become embroiled again in the Write 1 Sub 1 project, with the intent to write and submit one short story per week for the rest of the year. Well… at least submit one. I’m sure some will be rejected, and I should submit them immediately upon return. I’ll probably fudge it some weeks and count that as my “1,” but I’ll try not to. Really I will.
Over the weekend I took some time for market research and came up with eight places I’d love to submit to, mostly anthologies, one contest and a few e-mags with theme calls ending soon. By soon I mean in the next few months.
Except for two. They’re due July 31st.
Yah, that’s tomorrow.
Upon reading the guidelines for the submission calls, stories popped into my head immediately. I never had trouble with ideas. Both markets offer respectable payments plus copies to the chosen writers. Wonderful.
Now the only problem is to write them. Can I get two quality short stories done in one day? Edited and polished and submitted? Perhaps if I stop blogging and get back to it, huh?
